14 years ago in South London playing US Funky House music at parties, which he held in Clapham, Brixton and Wandsworth. By 1992, he became a resident at the world famous Café de Paris with ‘Release the Pressure’ and various other well known promotions sharing the limelight with Heavyweight US guests like Danny Morales, Victor Simonelli and Kerry Chandler to name a few.
1994 heard Andy on his introduction to pirate radio station with London’s first real underground station ‘London Underground’ working alongside Mikee B, Spoony and Timmi Magic better known as the ‘Dreem Teem’ and also the founders of Bug records Ramsey & Fen the ShowTime was Saturday 6-8.
Majorca, Tenerife & Ibiza all wanted Andy there to play the breaking sound of UK Garage as well the funkiest House tunes in the sunshine. His popularity spread to other European countries such as Switzerland, Germany and Holland where he began a monthly club residency introducing European’s to the ever-popular new sound ‘Swing Garage’.
By 1996 Andy began to broaden his knowledge into Music production and was awarded a City and Guilds certificate. He has been involved in running his various labels ‘Sugar Records’ and ‘Dude Recordings’. As a sales anager at one of the West End leading underground record shops ‘Release the Groove Records’, where he made the statement “working in the record shop has broadened my musical knowledge and depths of appreciation for music and culture.” He then went on to work with the likes of Minneapolis legend Alexander O’Neal.
Wintersports became a major part of Andy’s life when he was asked to host an event in Andorra. The UFO Snowboarding Club competition an xtreme snowboard and skiing event which is now running into its 8th year. Andy is still very much a part of although his snowboarding still remains a lot to be desired. In 2003 Andy was able to transmit a Live broadcast from side of a mountain in Andorra back home to London. He explains “being 1200 feet up on the side of a mountain felt as strange as it sounds broadcasting live to London but it was a good laugh and I can’t wait to do it again in March 2004”.
