Old Skool House & Garage Classics

Mikee B

1987 saw the start of Mikee B's long-standing DJ career in the rare groove, soul and funk nights of the era. But it was with the advent of the rave scene as a whole new musical experience in 1989 that he began to permanently make his mark. Joining forces with the friend Jason Kaye, they formed the infamous Top Buzz, regarded as innovators in the scene's progression from rave, to hardcore and into drum and bass.Branching into production even then, their tune 'Living In Darkness' became a club anthem. The Top Buzz name continues to thrive even today.

When house and garage pushed it's way into the forefront, Mikee B was an instrumental part. A man known as 'a master of musical knowledge', he takes great pleasure in bringing a crowd to a peak, making him a popular choice of DJ through the country. A favorite on pirate radio, he hooked up with Spoony and Timmi Magic to form the Dreem Teem in 1997, and hasn't looked back since. No-one could have predicted how far they would come and how quickly. Their witty and entertaining style of radio presenting led them from Kiss 100 FM to Galaxy and now in 2001, the dizzy heights of Radio One.Their hectic DJ schedule has taken them worldwide both individually and as a trio, their production regularly entering the national charts, and DJ's for Life their own label.

Mikee mixed the summer Ayia Napa 'Pure Silk Album' which continues to sell well. Mikee B (known as 'Office Boy') is generally in charge of the DFL label, handing all A and R, licensing and promotional club distribution. He also controls the running of The Dreem Teem's popular monthly club night @ 'Shake It Up'. With many club nights scheduled throughout the year following the main Radio One events, it's a very busy time.

But as with Spoony, there's always time for his second love - football. An avid Arsenal supporter, it was only due to a knee injury in school that he didn't make the England team..... and Ian Wright did.
